Listening to: "Welcome Home" by Nelson Rangell Weather: 22 deg, fair Mood: Relaxed
+.:.+.:.+ Hello ... can I get to know you? (",) +.:.+.:.+
I've once again experienced what I'm sure heaps of girls have experienced in their lives @ one point of time or another ... being "stalked"! (",) Although I've encountered countless numbers of male strangers trying to get to know me .. but i guess every encounter is amusing in itself as an after thought. No no .. I'm not mocking @ the brave souls who actually pluck up their courage to approach me & say hello .. but the process of me reacting to their advances I guess.. lol. I can't remember even half of them now but I do remember being very surprised when the other party was apparently a teenager i think ... around maybe 18 or 19? Being attracted is one thing .. but date me? I must have been @ least 5- 6 yrs older .. provided he wasn't even younger than how old i tot he was!!!
Since coming to Down Under, I do get the occasional stares & friendly hello & the "You are beautiful!" but today's XP was quite unnerving... I was happily shopping this morning wearing all "lok kor" & sans make up & everything when I noticed from the corner of my eye this tall male kept hovering near where I was. I tried to dismiss it but to my dismay he actually came forward to smile ... then say hello ... then after some more following around ... what's your name ... some more following around even though i was prancing very quickly then ... whats your number? Golly ... it was so unnerving. Hmm ... when it happens in Singapore it feels okie coz I guess being familiar with the place makes me feel quite safe but here i was ... all alone in a foreign land with some foreign guy trying to get to know me ... help! After countless efforts to avoid him & saying no ... he was relentless! I almost ran to security ... but fortunately the good man had the sense to realise it was fruitless & gave up. Phew! Afterwards when I went into another store .. I attacted another one!! Fortunately this time, it was a friendly flirty hello thats all..
Well ... it certainly made my otherwise mundane day more interesting with something to relish & laugh about when I'm really old & wrinkled someday ... lol .. .cheers! :)

Listening to: "Not a single day" by Rain Weather@Sydney: 22 deg, wet Mood: Relaxed
[ : [[ CAT FIGHT ]] : ]
I've completed my first week of fieldwork in Nepean Hospital situated @ Penrith. Umm... Penrith is at the bottom of the Blue Mountains so I guess one of the great things of being in that hospital as a patient or healthcare worker is getting to see the scenic outlines of the beautiful mountains as you gaze out of the windows.
I enjoyed my first week of attachment .. for some bazaar reason, the OTs were extremely busy as they recieved twice their usual daily caseloads - from the usual 8 - 10 to around 18. It was just crazy ... even on the very first day, I was just dashing here & there with my supervisor seeing clients, observing and helping with showering assessments, observing initial interviews, sitting in during family conferences. On the second day I even got to tag along to go see a home visit!! I got to walk an old lady who was using a walking stick, and wheel an old man in a wheel chair ... I really enjoyed spending time learning and talking to the patients!!!!! :):):)
Interesting stuff that happened ... there were two incidences ... during the first family conference i sat in .. the client was this old man who just simply wanted to go home!! Despite the advise of the Physio, OTs, social workers, nurse, docs, he just wanted to go home... his daughter, wife & son was there. His son was one strange character. He kept butting in to give rude & seemingly sacarstic remarks at inappropriate times. He kept doing it till everyone was clearly annoyed. Later when i asked my supervisor about it ... then i realised he was displaying the classic symptoms of someone who had suffered traumatic head injury!!!! I mean, I've learnt about it during uni days in psych classes but I've never actually met one!! :) Wow ...
The next was the home visit!! :) The old man we brought home to assess his home to see if he needed any home modifications e.g. grab rails coz he fell & fractured his hip. He's such a sporting & lovely old man!!! :) But then when we arrived back at the hospital, he fainted while trying to get out of the car!!!! :(:( Luckily the male nurses responded really quickly, otherwise my supervisor & I will not be able to hold on to him for long!!! It was so scary!! Luckily he was okie after that .. he had low blood pressure .. he had such a great sense of humour .. he actually turned & said to me:" Now isn't that a great learning experience for you, my dear?" :) Lol ..
My supervisors are nice! :):) One shares the same name as me - she's wonderful!! :) Warm, humourous & encouraging ... I hope to learn from her! :) The other shares the same name as my niece ... well . i think it's becoz she's resigning coz she seems a littled jaded.
Hmmm... i decided to put up the pic of a catfight becoz I dun like my MOT class! :( The people there are so competitive and self-centred. Maybe its becoz of how hectic & stressful the course is but people are generally not interested in each other except to know how useful you are to them academically. I hate it. I mean this profession is about caring for people ... if you can't even care about the people you study with how can you possibly care about your patients with you heart?? I dun know what they are trying so hard to prove ... even if they do become the most outstanding OT student, eventually it doesn't mean they will excel as an OT coz the patients wellbeing depends on the combined input by all the medical & rehab team members .. not just the OT! I mean my course mates can be very mean especially when it comes to giving feedback about other teams & other people. What kind of OT puts other people down? Doah?
Well, I'm happy I'm doing well in my assignments & performing well in my presentations & fieldwork ..I'm just going to keep doing my thing & avoid treading on the toes of the cats out there ... cheers! :)

"I Believe" Yolanda Adams / "Honey" OST
They said you wouldn't make it so far a a And ever since they've said it its been hard But never mind that night'cha had to cry Cause you had never let it go inside You worked real hard and you know exactly what you want and need so believe And you can never give up You can reach your goals Just talk to your soul and say
[Chorus:] I believe i can I believe i will I believe i know my dreams are real I believe i can I believe i will I believeI'll grow real soon and That is what i do believe
Your goals are just a thing in your soul aha And you know that your moves will let them show You keep creating pictures in your mind So just believe they will come true in time It will be fine leave all of your cares and stress behind and Just let it go Let the music flow inside against all the pain It just start to believe
[Chorus]
[Rap passage]
Never mind what people say
Hold your head high and turn away With all my hopes and dreams I will believe Even though it seems it's not for me I won't give up, i'll keep it up Looking to the sky I will achieve on my knees I will always believe

Listening to: "A Moment Like This" Kelly Clarkson Weather: 17 degrees, windy Feeling: Blessed!
Blessed is the word apt to describe my current mood now. :) Blessed because my parents have arrived!! :) And I got to spend quality time with them, which I enjoy thoroughly... I feel so loved!! :) When they arrived on Friday night, we had arranged to meet @ their hotel around 10pm .. we were suppose to have dinner together but I feared there was no food available that time (it's Good Friday!) so I cooked for them! :) Korean Ginseng soup, brown rice & steamed veggies ... :) My mom brought so much stuff for me ... some more in anticipation of need rather than me needing it now .. but hey ... it's the tot that counts! :) Yesterday I met them early in the morning to bring them over to my place ... we were like lugging my horrid luggages here & there ... it was a heartwarming time.. :) We went for tim sum afterwards .. yum! :) Lol ... my mom was commenting I lost weight & kept asking me to eat more ... That evening when my parents had to go for tour .. my landlady took me out for buffet dinner. . & she treated me!!! There was like fresh oysters, prawns, roasted meat, sharks fin soup, crabs, tim sum & .. my fav ... desserts ... I was so stuffed!!! :) I'ven't eaten so well for a long long while! :):) I feel so loved ... & so blessed!! :) HEhe ... Blessed Easter Everyone! :)
