Listening to: "As Bread that is Broken" by Ross Parsley
Mood: Contemplative
Houses and vehicles were destroyed in Indian village of Velankanni.
(CNN) -- Weeping residents combed through debris and stunned tourists meandered through litter-strewn streets on Monday, a day after tsunamis swept across the Indian Ocean from Thailand to Somalia, killing at least 23,000 people.
Death tolls are literally soaring with each passing day as the reality & gravity of the disaster continues to grip my heart ... as i follow the news, i can only scarcely imagine what the residents in the areas devasted by the event could have felt or experienced that day ... & the days that follow. It brings tears to my eyes as i hear how readily countries immediately dispatched humanitarian aid workers or released funds to help ... even countries so far away from South Asia.
"As new wine is found in cluster..." Isaiah 65:8a
This verse spoke to me & caught my attention this week & I felt Daddy God was trying to encourage & speak to me personally bout the blessing & annointing that is found in the Body of Chrost & communion of saints. The other scripture that spoke to me much is Psalm 19:7-14. It's such a beautiful piece of scripture.
"The law of the Lord is perfect; coverting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
The statues of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heartl
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever
The judgements of the Lord are true & righteous altogether
More to be desired are they than gold, Yea than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey & the honeycomb
Morever by them Your servant is warned
And in keeping them there is great reward" ~ Pslam 19:7-14
It reminds me to continually take delight in and the joy of God's beauty and character & the joy of obedience to Him, and the steadfastness of our Rock.
